Terms of Use

These are the rules for using HeyHey. They are short on purpose.

Using HeyHey

By creating an account or using HeyHey you agree to these terms. You must be at least 16 years old and able to make a binding agreement. HeyHey is run by Zanko, an independent journalist based in France.

Your account

Give a real email address you control. Keep your password and your keys safe and do not share them. You are responsible for what happens through your account. Tell us at privacy@heyhey1.com if you think someone else has access to it.

What you may not do

Because messages are sealed, we cannot read them. We can still suspend or close an account when we learn of serious abuse by other means, such as a report from another user or the account data we can see.

Your content

Your messages and files belong to you. You give us only the right needed to store and deliver them to the people you choose. We do not use them for anything else.

Security is shared work

HeyHey is built to protect your conversations, but no software is perfectly secure. You must keep your devices updated and protected. We do not promise that the service will always be available or free from errors. If you find a security problem, please write to us before making it public so we can fix it.

The service can change

We may improve, change or stop parts of HeyHey. If we stop the service, we will warn you in advance when we can so you can keep what matters to you.

Our responsibility

HeyHey is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses caused by things outside our control, such as a lost device, a lost key, a stolen password, or a failure of internet or third-party services. Nothing in these terms limits rights that the law gives you as a consumer, or our responsibility where the law does not allow it to be limited.

Closing your account

You can stop using HeyHey at any time and ask us to delete your account at privacy@heyhey1.com. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.

Law and disputes

French law applies. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may bring a dispute before the courts that the law gives you.

Changes and contact

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before it applies. Questions: privacy@heyhey1.com. See also our Privacy Policy.
